[Review] Umineko no Naku Koro ni

Umineko no Naku Koro ni

[Image: Umineko_no_Naku_Koro_ni_DVD_volume_1_cover.jpg]

Plot
Ushiromiya Battler and the rest of the Ushiromiya family gather at their island, Rokkenjima, to discuss the inheritance of the family head, Ushiromiya Kinzo. What starts out as a normal discussion turns into a murder mystery and the legend of the island's witch, Beatrice. Will Battler be able to disprove the existence of witches and save his family?

My Opinion
It was a very thrilling experience.
The art and music really set the atmosphere needed for the anime, creating a dark and sad feeling. It elevated the emotions from the story and gave me gooses too.
The plot was great. It was a little confusing at times and could've been explained more clearly or differently. That's not such a huge problem because you should be able to infer and figure it out for yourself as well.
The characters were a bit odd. People do some crazy things in this anime but that gives it a bit of variety and also makes it unpredictable.
The mystery part of it wasn't as great as I was expecting it to be. It felt more like you were along for the ride rather than putting together clues.
Overall, I'd say that it's awesome. It has a great storyline and a great atmosphere to it, executing that mystery feel very well. You're really going to like it if you like brainteasers or horror. I'd recommend this as something should at least try for 5 episodes. :D

Fun Facts

I did not enjoy the loli in this anime. I doubt many people here are shotacons but there's a shota in here that you might like(he's also a furry lol).
Battler's seiyuu(voice actor) is Ono Daisuke. He's appeared in many animes including Kuroshitsuji(Sebastien), Lucky Star(himself), and even Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu(Koizumi).
Battler reminds me of that Phoenix Wright guy.

Spring 2011 - First Thoughts - Part 1

Teehee, so much for your own personal blog. I has invaded. Anyway, in the Spring 2011 season, I've seen Dog Days, Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai, and Astrotte no Omocha so far.

Dog Days

From the creators of Nanoha, the studio Seven Arcs is back at it with a new series, Dog Days. Our hero here is summoned into an unknown world by the princess of a country at war. Just one catch, wars in this world are quite different from what comes to our mind. It seems very interesting, but at the same time, there are still oh so many different ways this could go.

Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai

This basically sums up the first episode. I had trouble following whatever the heck was going on. Not leaving a great first impression, but it deserves a second episode to prove itself.

Astarotte no Omocha!

Admittedly, not too much happened in the first episode. The male lead appears during the last few minutes. But it was a great introductory episode and succeeds in catching the viewer's attention. All aside... the female lead is voiced by Rie Kugimiya. Copy/pasting off of Wikipedia.. "Due to her popularity in such roles, some of her fans have named her as the Queen of Tsundere"

[Review] Angel Beats

For starters, I'll be putting out this Angel Beats Review. Have fun and expect more content in the future!

Angel Beats

Plot
Otonashi Yuzuru wakes up in the Afterlife Battlefront(it's really just a high school in the afterlife) without any memories. There, he meets Nakamura Yuri, leader of the SSS that opposes Angel in the Battlefront. Otonashi Yuzura now finds himself with an invincible body and a fight against dissappearing.

My Opinion
It was a great anime. It's on the same level as Clannad and possibly even greater just for having all those emotions packed into a short 13 episodes. At first it felt like I was watching Haruhi. There's a lot of comedy with Yuri resembling Haruhi a lot as well(she even has hair ribbons). Then it got deeper and I saw the emotional side of it. It has a unique plot with great art. You'll be in for a good time if you watch this anime :D

Fun Stuff
The artist for the ending song also had a song used in Clannad: Tomoyo After
Tenshi is voiced by Hanazawa Kana, a well known seiyuu for roles like Azunyan(K-on) and Kirino(Oreimo)
Key had a hand in this anime. Epic +100.
